Dedicated to the original Teenage Idol! The incredibly beautiful and talented Eric Hilliard "Ricky" Nelson (May 8, 1940 - December 31, 1985). Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Legend.

47 years ago, my favorite Beatle George Harrison married Pattie Boyd! Here’s Rick and George hanging out together at a party with their wives. Ricky and George were great friends and neighbors. George is mentioned briefly in Ricky’s song “Garden Party” (as well as John Lennon and Yoko Ono) as the character “Mr. Hughes” which was the alias Harrison used while traveling, and “hid in Dylan’s shoes” which refers to an album of Bob Dylan covers Harrison was planning. “Wearing his disguise” had something to do with Harrison’s habit of traveling incognito. You can listen to song here :)

Early May 1973 - Ken Mansfield (center), manager of Apple Record’s USA division, hosted a party in Malibu Canyon celebrating the launch of his new business venture: Hometown Productions. Ken Mansfield shown here posing with his guests Rick & Kris Nelson and Pattie & George Harrison.
Celebrity guests included Waylon Jennings, Claudine Longet, Rob Reiner, Penny Marshall, Mal Evans and actor Leonard Nimoy - who served as photographer for the event (wonder if he took this photo? :P).
George left early to return to the recording studio and Pattie stayed to enjoy the party. Ken Mansfield wrote in his book that he “thought [Pattie] was the single-most beautiful woman on planet Earth”.
Photo published in Ken Mansfield’s 2007 book, The White Book (in which the photo is full page size and tinted blue).
